Who manufactures the DRYCAKE centrifuge?
The rotating assembly (bowl, scroll, scroll drive, base frame & covers, hydraulic power pack) are manufactured by CBB in Monteroberto, Italy. The centrifuge, control system, and ancillary equipment are manufactured and/or assembled by DRYCAKE in Houston, Texas or Indianapolis, IN.
What range of sizes is available?
Capacities from 20-gpm to 800-gpm and bowl diameter sizes from 220mm (9”) through 795 mm (31”).
Is ancillary equipment offered?
DRYCAKE offers complete dewatering and solids handling systems. This typically includes the feed pumps, polymer systems and dewatered solids conveyors.
Are skid mounted and trailer mounted systems offered?
DRYCAKE offers skid mounted centrifuge dewatering systems. This system is completely pre-piped and wired for rapid, low cost installation. Complete trailer mounted systems are also offered.
What type of scroll back-drive system is used on the DRYCAKE?
Both hydraulic and electromechanical systems are offered. The hydraulic system consists of a hydraulic motor directly coupled to the scroll conveyor with an integrated hydraulic power pack. The electromechanical system consists of an electric motor with VFD coupled to a mechanical gearbox to drive the scroll.
Why are both scroll back-drive systems offered?
The hydraulic system may obtain higher performance (higher cake solids) on some applications. The electromechanical system is offered for applications where hydraulic systems are not permitted.
How is the scroll conveyor removed?
The rotating assembly is first removed from the base. The rotating assembly is designed for simplified removal from the base, making the process of scroll removal and exchange a simple procedure. After the rotating assembly is removed, the headwall of the bowl is removed and the scroll is then pulled out horizontally. This method has the advantage of removing the scroll in a clean workplace with good access for inspection and repair of all components in the rotating assembly.
What types of wear protection systems are offered?
Sintered tungsten carbide (STC) tiles and flame spray wear protection systems are offered on the scroll conveyor. Solid STC discharge nozzles are standard.
What level of automation is available?
The system is totally automated to minimize operator requirement. The feed pump, polymer system and dewatered solids conveyor can also be integrated into the control system. Standard controls are DRYCAKE or Allen Bradley PLC with 10” color touchscreen display. Customized control systems are available.
What are the standard materials of construction?
316SS and/or duplex stainless steel forged or centrifugal cast wetted parts. Base is carbon steel with corrosion resistant paint. Control cabinet enclosures are NEMA 4X.
What is the L-10 life for the main bearings?
100,000 hours without correction factors.
What type of control system is used on the main drive?
A VFD is used as standard on all DRYCAKE centrifuges. This offers smoother starts and reduced power consumption than other types of drive systems.
What about service and support?
Service and support is available from the DRYCAKE facility in Houston, Texas. Our trained staff of service technicians is supported by our large engineering and manufacturing facility to ensure that equipment startups and maintenance assistance occurs in a timely manner and meets all design expectations. Major components are stocked for rapid delivery if required. Most components can be shipped for arrival within one day.
